Voyce and Simpson-Daniel looking to maintain excellent Heineken Cup records

Tom Voyce closing in on English Record whilst James Simpson-Daniel looks to maintain his excellent strike rate

Wasps Wing Tom Voyce who ended last season injured and had his worst return in seven years in last seasons Heineken Cup with just the one try in four matches is within striking distance of the English try scoring record in the competition.

He has 21 tries now and is one behind Northampton’s ex wing Ben Cohen going into this seasons campaign as he looks o become England’s leading try scorer in the competition.

He has scored 14 tries for Wasps in five seasons and got seven for Bath in two seasons including his best ever return of six in 2001/02.

Gloucester Wing/centre James Simpson-Daniel is fourth in the list of English try scorers in the Heineken Cup with 17, two behind Leon Lloyd, four behind Tom Voyce and five behind Ben Cohen.

He does though have the second best strike of any player who has scored 15 tries or more in the competition.

Simpson Daniel has a strike rate of a try every .71 of a game which is .06 behind Toulouse’s Michel Marfaing who has 24 tries in 31 matches and just ahead of Vincent Clerc who has scored 26 in 37 matches
