National Three South
· Ealing winger David Howells scorers 33 tries during the season which is the second best ever return in the division after Penzance & Newlyn winger Richard ‘Rocky’ Newton ran in 38 tries in the 2001/02 season, with only three players topping 30 tries in a season in the division
· He is the second Ealing player to top the try scoring in the division as last season wing Owen Bruynseels scored 20 as Ealing returned to the National leagues
· London Scottish fly half James Brown kicks 86 conversions which gets him into fourth place on the all time list behind Nick Grecian (Newbury 100), Andy Frost (Southend 97) and Nat Saumi (Penzance 91)
· Scottish scored 157 tries during the season 10 fewer than Newbury managed in the 1996/97 season
· Scottish set a new record for 113 conversions during the season, James Brown (86), Frankie Neale (11), Simon Amor (10), Scott Haddon (3) and Anton Petzer (3), 10 more than Newbury managed in the 96/97 season in their 26 match winning season
· Ealing winger David Howells ran in six hat tricks during the season which is a division record
· Chinnor are relegated for the second time in three seasons from the division
· Relegated Chinnor had the 10th best try scoring record in the division with the back dominating the scoring 44 to 12
· Lydney fly half Mark Davies slotted 53 penalty goals during the season for
· Ealing picked up four losing bonus points in their six away defeats
· Chinnor and Bridgwater & Albion were the only sides not to take an away try bonus point
· Relegated Chinnor had the eighth best away record in the division with four wins and two draws to go with seven defeats
· Dings Crusaders lost four matches at home and took a losing bonus point in all four of them
· Rugby Lions with just two had the fewest home try bonus points
· There were 12 players who started all 26 of their clubs league matches last season with Lydney and Ealing both havinf three each
· Although Canterbury did not have any ever presents they did have five players who started 25 matches including the front row pair of Matt Pinnock and Tom Rogers
· Canterbury’s Dave Hillerby started the most matches on the bench with 20 and came on in them all
· Richmond hooker Ed Rosa was the most subbed player coming off in 19 matches, four more than anyone else
· Ealing winger David Howells scored six hat tricks and no other player managed more than one
· Champions London Scottish were the only side to have two players sent off during the season
· Rugby Lions were the only side to have scored more tries away from home than at home, 35 to 30
· Bottom of the table Havant did well scoring late in matches with 16 of their 48 tries coming in this period which was higher than five of the sides who finished above them
· Chinnor with 48 to 42 were the only side to concede more tries at home than on the road
· Ealing with just 29 had the fewest starters in the division, two fewer than Rugby Lions
· Barking with 51 had the most starters in the division, nine more than next on the list Richmond, and had seven more players play from the bench for a total of 58 players
· In the kicking strike rate, with a minimum qualification of 50 attempts, London Scottish fly half James Brown leads the way with 73.29 with 107 of his 146 kicks on target
· 17 of Bridgwater’s tries came from the back row out of a total of 61 which weas the highest % in the division
· Bridgwater and Havant were the only sides to have their forwards out score the backs, for Albion 34 out of 61 were scored by the forwards and for Havant 27 out of 48 were scored by the forwards
Ealing who had the most tries scored by their wingers had the lowest % of tries against by opposition wingers just 11 out of the 48 tries they conceded
